Why it works

Campus dressing is a uniform problem. You get dressed at 8am for the same eight hours, so the pieces have to be thoughtless and still read as deliberate. Keep the tee cheap: it takes the coffee, the library radiator and the walk across a wet quad, and it should be replaceable without a second thought. The cardigan and the loafers are what anyone actually registers, so that is where the money goes.
