A tennis bracelet is the rare piece where the copy and the original are doing the same job. Nobody inspects a line of stones on a wrist across a dinner table, and nobody can. The whole effect is a thin bright band that catches the light on the way to a glass, so this is the one category where paying for real stones buys you almost nothing anybody else will ever see.

What separates a good one from a sad one is not the stone at all. It's the setting and the spacing. Prongs that sit low and close keep the line continuous, so the bracelet reads as one bright band rather than a row of individual dots; gaps and tall claws are what make costume jewellery announce itself from three feet away.
